Follow the Current

I have had countless encounters with sea turtles in the ocean, but my encounter with this Olive Riddley sea turtle in Costa Rica was unlike any other. While I was photographing tuna, I noticed a shadow swimming towards me. When I turned around, I realized it was an Olive Riddley sea turtle swimming towards me with such curiosity.

To my surprise, the turtle started to follow me around in the water. It was an unusual experience because normally turtles tend to keep their distance. As I swam away, the turtle kept up with me, as if trying to show me something.

I managed to capture this moment in the photograph, where the turtle is framed perfectly with the blue ocean as the backdrop. The Olive Riddley sea turtle's intricate patterns are on full display, and its curious eyes seem to hold a depth of secrets and wisdom.

This encounter was a reminder of the importance of preserving these endangered species and their habitats. I feel fortunate to have had this encounter and to share this photograph with others, in hopes of inspiring them to protect and appreciate the natural world.
